Dog Treat Recipes

We asked our National Foster Puppy Coordinator, Julie, and our Foster Puppy Trainer, Haley, what their favorite DIY dog treat recipes were, and we are sharing them with you! After you make them, let us know what your pups thought!

Julie’s Choice- Pupsicles

This super easy DIY is PAWfect as it gets warmer outside.

What you’ll need:

  • Dixie cups
  • Milkbones
  • Water

Instructions:

  1. Fill dixie cup with water
  2. Drop milkbone(s) into a cup
  3. Freeze

Easy as that! This treat will cool your pup down while they are busy trying to get to the treat.

Haley’s Choice- Tuna Fudge

This is a fish-based treat that is easy to make and easy to handle. This tends to be a higher-value treat!

What you’ll need:

  • 2 cans tuna (don’t drain)
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
  • 5 cups whole wheat flour
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Blend ingredients together
  • Spread onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake at 350⁰ F for 20 minutes
  • Cut treats!

#ProTip: Haley uses this mold so she doesn’t have to cut up the treats.
