Thank you for your interest in applying to become a PAWS Foster Puppy Raiser! PAWS would not be able to fulfill our mission without dedicated volunteers.
A Foster Puppy Raiser helps a person living with a disability by raising a dog that will enhance their independence and quality of life. Foster Puppy Raisers volunteer to raise a PAWS Puppy for 12-14 months, until it’s old enough to begin formal Assistance Dog training. During that time, the puppy lives in a Raiser’s home while they teach basic obedience and expose the dog to public environments it may experience with a client.
To be eligible for consideration, you must fill out the Foster Puppy Raiser application below. We will contact you after your application is reviewed.
When you’re finished, click the ‘submit’ button to send your form to PAWS National Headquarters for review.
NOTE: Please allow yourself time to complete the form in its entirety, as it will not be saved.
If you have any questions, please contact Julie Thorington, PAWS National Foster Puppy Coordinator at 616-877-8297 ext 451.
Thank you for your support!
