Thank you so much for celebrating International Assistance Dog Week with us this past week! This special week was created especially to recognize all the "devoted, hardworking Assistance Dogs" helping to transform disability into ability for their human partners each and every day.
Beyond honoring Assistance Dogs, their dedictated Raisers and Trainers, International Assistance Dog Week aims to raise awareness and educate the general public about Assistance Dogs -- something we at PAWS strive to do as well!
The graphic at the left is a good reminder of the best etiquette for whenever you see an Assistance Dog Team out in public. We know how hard it is not to pet one when you see them -- but it really is the best for both the dog and their human!
If you missed any of the stories we shared during this week, you can find and read them, here.
And, if you'd like to learn more about Assistance Dog Team etiquette in public, this article is a good place to start.
